AUTOMATED ELECTIONS
Eddie:
"Sino pang may malasakit at pag-ibig sa bansa? Sino pa? Sino pa? Eh di AKO. Kailan mag-uumpisang magkaisa, kumilos na? Kailan pa? Kailan pa? EH DI NGAYON. Sino pa nga bang gagawa? Sinong pagsisimulan? Sinong magtataguyod ng bayan ni Juan? EH DI TAYO!"
Napakagandang mensahe.

I ALREADY VOTED! HAVE YOU?
I took the Ballot in the PCOS Machine, around 2 minutes it said "Congratulations! Your vote has been cast." I went back to the BEI to put my thumbmark on the voter's book and had my indelible ink on my index finger.
What can I say? Well, it will really take time because of the long lines but the voting inside the precinct is really fast. I hope that there will be no "Hokus PCOS" on this year's elections.
I hope that the state respects our sacred right to suffrage.
My Message
To our dear politicians and supporters, please respect the people's decision, especially if we know that there has been no irregularities. Please stop harassing the teachers who has accepted the responsibility to facilitate our elections. Please don't burn our classrooms because I believe it is your platform to improve the quality of education in your respective communities. Let's be vigilant as to what will happen to our votes.
To those whose votes has been bought, it is your future and your children's future at stake on this elections.
To all the Filipinos, please keep up the discipline of lining-up and waiting for your turn. Patience is a virtue.
I hope that we will really have the will of the people in the results of the 2010 National Elections.
Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

IBOBOTO KO BA SI WISELY?
Then, who is wisely?
To my dear fellow Filipinos, I hope that you'll be the "wisely." We should be wise to elect those whom we believe can help each of us succeed. Remember, we are the voters. In a democracy, people elect their mistakes. If we will vote for a failure, we will reap failure for the next 6 years of our lives. May 10, 2010 marks the turning point of our lives. I do hope that we arrive at a very good decision to vote for the ones who will bring us to hope better for our future.
When we vote, we should imagine our lives to where we are going in the next fifteen or twenty years. We should also think about the Philippines that we are going to leave to our children, to the next generations of Filipinos.
Ako, I already have selected the leaders whom I believe will lead us to success in the coming years. And I know, that you also have yours.
Before May 10, 2010, we heard a lot of promises, fiery words from the candidates, mudslinging, issues and solutions. Hopefully, these shed light to our mind how to build back our lost nation.
I talked to a friend last May 2. He said that we Filipinos always result to toppling the leaders we don't want through a non-constitutional way---the streets. We always end up in EDSA. But we all have forgotten the essence of this historic place. If you were to ask me, I always believed and respected the views of my trusted friend. He is one of the best and truest persons. But I already made up my mind. I already am wearing yellow and blue.
A lot of mudslinging has also been done by the supporters of all sides. I know that you believed in your candidates so much that we don't mind that other people who support other candidates also have the same mind-set.
We need not just will and determination but character and values.
I don't blame you if you would say that Noy just ran because of his parents' heroism. I don't blame you if he is really not prepared to run. I don't blame you if you say he has been involved in the "Hacienda Luisita Massacre." I don't blame you if you say he has "TOPAK." I hope that those who said these can still sleep well.
If Noy has parents' who are heroes, will he allow himself to tarnish this name? Noy was indeed not prepared to run for President but the people called him to fight for them. Noy is not the only one who owns Hacienda Luisita. It was already not proven if its the police or other elements who killed the farmers protesting in the hacienda. If he has TOPAK, then why would a Mar Roxas, 12 senatorial candidates and local officials (some who came from other parties) support him? He could have broken down in the heat of the campaign. A Noynoy Aquino was not prepared to run as President but the Filipinos welcome him to be their President. I thought Sen. Aquino was not good but I was proven wrong. He answered well in the Presidential Forums.
At least Noy and Mar has been consistent with what they say. They have a slate which support each other and not oppose beliefs. Unlike another party which has a candidate whose father was a violator human rights together with those who said they opposed human rights violators. How would you believe their advocacy?
As my VP, Sen. Mar has always said, "Bayan muna bago ang sarili." Very inspiring. Mr. Palengke was the one prepared to run for President. But he listened to the call of the Filipino nation. As he always say, "Ang taumbayan ang Boss ko." Sen. Mar made very striking changes in governance. He was very strict on the prices of basic commodities when he was DTI Secretary. He made medicines cheaper. He paved the way to the creation of more jobs through the BPOs. And most of all, he has genuine love for the common Filipino.
Noy-Mar is a very good tandem for the next six years.
GLOBAL WARMING is GLOBAL WARNING
I took a bath when we were about to go home to Cabanatuan. The time was around 2:30PM to 3:00PM. I opened the shower knob. Voila! Gushing hot water came out of its nozzle. Its hot that you don't need to buy a heater to make the water warm. The sad fact there, is that, the installed water heater is not working. That's how hot our world is. That is in Metro Manila.
I do hope that the actions that we say we would do should always be done. I believe that through our little ways, like not littering even the smallest candy wrapper can be done. We really need to take action, if not, we'll all be drinking lukewarm water or worse, we will be like a cow's meat in a hot oven. =(

2009 is nearly over...
We were happy. Because our college shared the overall spot with CBAA in the concluded CLSU Lantern and Float Parade 2009. Truly, it was an exciting one. I would like to congratulate, once more, the students who have devoted their time and effort in preparing for the contests.
Our Street Dancers were Champions; our soloist, comedian and dancers landed third; our lantern king and queen were beautiful and glowing during the pageant; our lantern only missed one award (it was indeed the best); and the float was radiant. I would like to commend our Dean's efforts in organizing the teams to facilitate and coordinate with the components of the program. =)
Kudos evryone.
It was more fun later that fateful December 18 because we had an intimate (?!) exchange gift. Why intimate? Because it was like a reunion though one of us missed it. Loved the gift that I received. Thank you Jonnie.
I have been witnessed to a lot of happenings in the College. Hopefully, when 2010 comes everything will be better.
Thanks Bro, if not for you I think I would not surpass the challenges of 2009. =)

...Of Typhoons and Class Suspensions
I was awakened by the angry rainfall early 3AM (October 1), so I thought that the classes are worth suspending. When I woke up at 7AM the sun was brightly greeting me a great and happy morning. Classes will not be suspended was what played in my mind.
Sadly, we had so many class suspensions that classes were sacrificed. I, personally, am running out of time catching up with the lessons that I need to cover. I felt that the students rallied to suspend the classes, and they won. Early October 1, the memorandum was faxed to our office.
For me, it will be a long weekend. But for them, it will be tons of sighs and protests because of the tons of school works (reading assignments and paper works that I'll be giving them) and make-up classes extending until their semestral break. They need to catch up with what they needed to learn. =)
Typhoon Pepeng...
Here comes another typhoon. Few days ago, Ondoy left but invited Pepeng to visit the Philippines. Pepeng is the reason why many students in public elementary and high schools will have compressed lessons in the coming days. College classes were even suspended earlier that our toddler and teen students. I admire the resiliency of the early memorandum but it could have been done later today (October 2) when there is already a typhoon signal raised.
There has been plenty of text messages saying that power will be off by 9PM or 11PM but hey its already 11:30PM and I'm still writing this blog.
The problem with us is that we over exagerate things. Yes, we have been hit and was devastated by Ondoy but we need to positively look into things. I thought we are a God-believing nation? Of course most will say that it will be the end of the world. But hey its not yet the end.
What we need to do is to listen to the experts, with PAGASA I mean. And not even give a damn to a GM message saying that its a devastating typhoon and that we are all gonna d because of Pepeng. Hey Philippines, the media sometimes over-exagerate things. Let us be critical thinkers.
I think all we need to do is to prepare and to follow the advises of disaster management experts. =)
I am blessed because I am a trained Red Cross volunteer and disaster responder. Like math problems, disasters also has a formula to come up with the answer. All we need to do is to follow the step-by-step solution.
God bless us. =) (Think Pasitib! -sabi nga ni Kuya Robin. =)

Remembering a Great Man
A GREAT MAN WENT BACK TO HEAVEN
Fermin dela Cruz Bigting - July 7, 1927 to March 13, 2008
He is my grandfather. My idol. My fan.
The sad thing was that he called last Friday because he just went home from almost a week in the hospital. Sad that I missed it. It was around 10:30AM, the same time that I went to work.
He was diagnosed with colon cancer which dramatically reached his liver. He just had his chemotherapy, I guess that was just two days ago. My mom texted me this lunch informing me that Grandpa went back home, to Jesus. Lolo could have spared my Grandma, who’s also in the hospital now recuperating from pelvic fracture. Or it was really just time to be called back to heaven.
My Idol.
He is my icon of a greatest leader, our small and humble town of Nampicuan ever had. A good Mayor he was, he established many plans for our municipality. These plans are now being undertaken by the current leaderships who assume the post he vacated.
My true measure of integrity in leadership. As one time we were exchanging thoughts of how he ran the municipal office, that he could have taken bribes so that, we his beloved grandchildren, would have not experienced hardships. But honest as he is, he did not accept any commissions from all the projects under his governance. He was just laughing, thinking that he could’ve just pocketed big sums of money.
He is the support that anybody can have. Just say what you need and with no thinking twice he’ll give it to you. *Thanks Grandpa for this laptop, the i-pod and most of all my College Diploma.
My Fan.
He was the one insisting that I work in the academe. He was happy that I landed my first job in an office of student affairs in Cabanatuan. Bothered he was when I transferred to PNRC and fought for honesty but failed. And when I told him that I’m back to my alma mater, as a college instructor, he was more than willing to once again give me "Grandpa’s Scholarship" to finish my master’s degree. *Well, Grandpa rest assured that I’ll be frugal this time and of course share what you gave me to my siblings.
He made a deal with me when I was in High School - for every grade of 90% up I’ll be given a cash incentive of P100. He also did this to my brothers and my cousins. *Just don’t ask how rich we are. *Yabang!*hehehehe* See how great a fan our Grandfather is, willing to pay for a grand performance. He even gave me my tuition for finishing my College degree. He was with me when I accepted my diploma and awards. He believed in all of us so much, that he never bothered to check if we are really using what he gives to enroll or meet up academic requirements. He was that faithful.
I might not be there beside you Lolo, but I want you to know for the Nth time that I love you so much. Thank you for pushing me more. I’ll bring with me everything that you taught us, all of the WISDOM.
Lord, thanks for taking back my Grand Dad. I know the time has come that he has to go back home, with you. He had done his part, its time for us to do ours.
**Have to halt, i might flood the office with my tears. I love you Lolo.
The historic March 13, 2008 Friendster Blog. Of course, I edited some portions of it. I would just like to share with you how much I loved my Lolo Emin. I miss him so much.
