IBOBOTO KO BA SI WISELY?

People always say, "Vote Wisely!"

Then, who is wisely?

To my dear fellow Filipinos, I hope that you'll be the "wisely." We should be wise to elect those whom we believe can help each of us succeed. Remember, we are the voters. In a democracy, people elect their mistakes. If we will vote for a failure, we will reap failure for the next 6 years of our lives. May 10, 2010 marks the turning point of our lives. I do hope that we arrive at a very good decision to vote for the ones who will bring us to hope better for our future.

When we vote, we should imagine our lives to where we are going in the next fifteen or twenty years. We should also think about the Philippines that we are going to leave to our children, to the next generations of Filipinos.

Ako, I already have selected the leaders whom I believe will lead us to success in the coming years. And I know, that you also have yours.

Before May 10, 2010, we heard a lot of promises, fiery words from the candidates, mudslinging, issues and solutions. Hopefully, these shed light to our mind how to build back our lost nation.

I talked to a friend last May 2. He said that we Filipinos always result to toppling the leaders we don't want through a non-constitutional way---the streets. We always end up in EDSA. But we all have forgotten the essence of this historic place. Sana 'pag bumoto tayo sa May 10, siguraduhin natin na hindi na tayo babalik sa EDSA upang magptalsik ng Pangulo bagkus ipagdiwang ang ating kalayaan. If you were to ask me, I always believed and respected the views of my trusted friend. He is one of the best and truest persons. But I already made up my mind. I already am wearing yellow and blue.

A lot of mudslinging has also been done by the supporters of all sides. I know that you believed in your candidates so much that we don't mind that other people who support other candidates also have the same mind-set.

We need not just will and determination but character and values.

I don't blame you if you would say that Noy just ran because of his parents' heroism. I don't blame you if he is really not prepared to run. I don't blame you if you say he has been involved in the "Hacienda Luisita Massacre." I don't blame you if you say he has "TOPAK." I hope that those who said these can still sleep well.

If Noy has parents' who are heroes, will he allow himself to tarnish this name? Noy was indeed not prepared to run for President but the people called him to fight for them. Noy is not the only one who owns Hacienda Luisita. It was already not proven if its the police or other elements who killed the farmers protesting in the hacienda. If he has TOPAK, then why would a Mar Roxas, 12 senatorial candidates and local officials (some who came from other parties) support him? He could have broken down in the heat of the campaign. A Noynoy Aquino was not prepared to run as President but the Filipinos welcome him to be their President. I thought Sen. Aquino was not good but I was proven wrong. He answered well in the Presidential Forums.

At least Noy and Mar has been consistent with what they say. They have a slate which support each other and not oppose beliefs. Unlike another party which has a candidate whose father was a violator human rights together with those who said they opposed human rights violators. How would you believe their advocacy?

As my VP, Sen. Mar has always said, "Bayan muna bago ang sarili." Very inspiring. Mr. Palengke was the one prepared to run for President. But he listened to the call of the Filipino nation. As he always say, "Ang taumbayan ang Boss ko." Sen. Mar made very striking changes in governance. He was very strict on the prices of basic commodities when he was DTI Secretary. He made medicines cheaper. He paved the way to the creation of more jobs through the BPOs. And most of all, he has genuine love for the common Filipino.

Noy-Mar is a very good tandem for the next six years.
